Flackery, Flackery, Flackery... latest news, sneak peeks, and updates
I usually spend my time promoting our members, community partners, and friends of TBG, but this week, I’m going to share a little love for Flackery.
Between the new website (I’ll get to that in a bit) and the upcoming release of the summer issue, I thought I’d take a step back from the pre-publication madness to share a sneak peek of a few of the articles in this issue.
In case you missed it in the hero pic up top, the theme for our summer issue is customer relationships.
It’s a subject we’ve danced around as part of sales and marketing, but never really focused on as a standalone topic.
Now that we’ve taken a deep dive and spent a few months doing research and writing, you can expect customer relationships to be a regular topic on the website and podcast. We may even start a mastermind group for customer relationship management. (Stay tuned for updates)
In the meantime, the summer issue has some super ideas to help you organize and implement a successful customer relationship strategy.
We also have a couple articles about hiring employees. (Another area we’ve never delved into.)
As many of you know, Bob Baker, founding partner with Peak Counsel, is our trusty idea generator for IRS and tax topics. I’m not sure how he comes up with them, but he always has fantastic suggestions for important tax info for small business owners.
For this issue’s tax topic, he sent me on a quest to find the pros and cons, A.K.A. risks and benefits, of paying startup founders (employees) in equity. — He knew the answer, but I was a little surprised by some things I found out about paying founding employees with equity instead of cash.
These are just a few of the articles in this issue. (We have to save something for next week!)
This week’s other big news is the launch of Flackery’s new website (https://flackerymag.com)
We’re cruising into our 5th year of Flackery and Lisa and I felt like it needed its own space. It’s still one of The Business Guild’s featured products, but it seemed like it was getting lost in the depths of The Business Guild’s expanding website. Especially now that we're adding so many new features and resources to the guild's offering.
The new Flackery website is very much a work in progress, but we have a couple new pages queued up to go live with the release of the summer issue and we expect to add more features as we head into fall.
That’s all I’ve got for this week. Don’t forget to watch for the release of the summer issue on June 1st.
